Like Mother Like Daughter

I love that the outdoor campus offers free kids classes on things like paddling, archery, and today, fishing!  The teachers are so great with the kids and I'm so grateful I don't have to do things like touch the fish and put the worm on the hook.  Like mother like daughter. . .

Porter on the other hand, was all about putting the worm on the hook. . .

Both kids were pretty excited that they each caught a blue gill!  Porter threw his back in the water and it happily swam away.  Ainsley's poor fish did not survive the hook and when Porter pointed this out, she was sad. . .like mother like daughter.

The best part though was the teacher asking the kids all these fishing questions.  Ainsley didn't raise her hand for any of them.  Then when he asked what today's date was, so they could fill out their little books at class, her hand shot up :) Like mother like daughter. . .or not so much since i don't usually know what day it is ;)

Fireballs

It's a fun treat when I get a little one on one time with our youngest, to just soak him in.  He cracked me up as I took him on a bike ride this morning.  Here he is saying, "That was AWESOME!  That's my special MOVES-ES!"  Can you tell he has big brothers?

I love your special moveses Ryker :)  Here he is showing me how "Super Fast!"  he is :)
He found every puddle he could find to ride through, in true boy fashion.  And the best part. . .he told me. . "My bikes got FIREBALLS on it!"  OK, buddy. . .they are butterflies, but whatever :)

PS I even risked stinky flipflops again by walking through puddles with him ;) that's love

Florida Family Vacation: Day 1

On Sunday morning the kids got to experience their first plane ride as we headed to Florida!

Amazed at God's creation. . .                The Gulf of Mexico and a river flowing into it. . .

Exhausted after our walk from the airport to our rental van in the Florida HEAT. . .notice Ryker's ride

My parents had a house for our families to stay in. . .we got groceries, had dinner,
and heard bedtime stories in the "girls bedroom". . .

Florida Family Vacation: Day 2

I have wanted to visit Disney World for quite some time, so was pretty excited to see the Magic Kingdom sign!

After we parked (along with thousands of other people) we got to ride this trolley thing that took us to a ferry that then took us to Magic Kingdom.  The trolley was an experience.  As I was straddling my folded up stroller on it, the driver asked me to move to an edge since kids can't be on an edge.  I think my words to him were, "you've got to be kidding me :)."  He wasn't kidding.  So I moved, enormous backpack and all, and GooF heard some guy say "we need a camera for this." lol.  Anyway here we are, excited to be OFF the trolley and headed to the ferry boat!!

First stop at Magic Kingdom was Adventureland. . .

The whole crew. . .my parents, sisters, our husbands (not behind their correct wife ;) ), and the cousins!

GooF :)

The iced lemonades were a huge hit. . . thanks Grammy and Grampa!

The rides were really neat once we were on them, but the lines were long and the sun was hot.  I appreciated the rides that we had fast passes for!

The girls in front of the castle :)

Touching the castle!

Mickey ice cream treats while waiting for the afternoon parade. . .thanks again Grammy and Grampa :)

The "people mover" . . .Ainsley liked that ride. . .

Buzz Lightyear ride. . .somehow Ryker beat us all, even with my game face on ;)

One of the boys fav parts of magic kingdom was the pirate treasure hunt!  Ryker ran around saying, "Rrrrrr Mateys!"

I think they found some treasure!

Thanks to Auntie Jenny for entertaining the crew while waiting for the evening parade. . .

Trey and Ainsley clapped through the whole thing. . .

After the parade, lightshow, and fireworks, we began the trek back to our vehicle. . .this time taking the tram, along with many other families and many sleeping children!
