So, Sunday morning GooF found a roach in our laundry room. We skipped church to do some investigating/cleaning. . making good use of Ryker's naptime. Then, we went out for lunch, and out of ALL the restaurants in our city, and ALL the tables in that restaurant, we were seated RIGHT NEXT to our pastor and his family, as well as one of our college religion profs that goes to our church. I told them our "excuse" for missing church, but really, like my dad says, God has a sense of humor. We should have been at church. We got a good laugh about it :) Then, GooF was ready to buy a new house, so we went to the parade of homes. Ainsley and I have our eyes on some two stories with front porches, but really, am so thankful for the home God has provided for our family. Am hoping it was one lone roach. . time will tell :)
And, just because it's a cute pic from our day downtown. . .
The kids and I ran a few errands downtown today, as well as making time for a trolley ride , with a stop at the library. Trey skinned his knee and Porter was quick to go back to him and say "be strong". . ."Mom, I'm encouraging him!" Porter said. Along with his strong will, he has such a huge heart! Ainsley offered to carry him :) She is so thoughtful! Yes, they have their arguments, but I am trying harder to be quick to point out the times they encourage one another, building one another up. I am enjoying the independence of the older kids, the laughter they bring to our life, and seeing their individual personalities develop. Of course we make mistakes in parenting them, but at the end of the day, as we're reading to them, scratching backs, etc, I pray that God will continue to mold them into the people he wants them to be!
