First Day of Kindergarten!

Ainsley Brielle started kindergarten yesterday, and it was an emotional day for both Ainsley and mommy! I was going to have daddy take her, but she wanted me to, and I decided I didn't want to miss out. After saying a prayer, blowing kisses into her pockets for her to take to school, and telling her brothers that she'd only be gone 7 hours when they said they'd miss her, she waved and blew kisses. . .
then we walked hand in hand to school (in a dress, leggings and tennis shoes I might add. . .she had gym). . . .stopping to wish on a "wishing flower" on the way. . . Apple in hand for Mrs. Marty. . .

We both had on very brave and happy faces. When I walked her into her classroom, I helped her find her spot at the circle and when I hugged and kissed her goodbye she said in tears, "mommy I don't want you to go." I said, "I love you," then turned around and started crying as I walked out of the classroom. I came home, and soon after, Porter asked if he could come to get Ainsley with me. When it was time to pick her up, I took the boys in the wagon to get her. She saw me, burst into tears and couldn't stop crying. Sweet girl. I let her cry. . .what a relief to make it through her first day of kindergarten!!
Her favorite part was music, and she was excited that she got to walk with a little girl in her classroom back to get the little girls lunchbox. She said, "I only had tears when I missed you." I said, "When was that?" She said, "At my table and during gym. . ." Sweet Ainsley.
Last night at bed and again this morning Trey said, "Go with AZ!" She said, "I only have 4 more school days and then I get 2 stay at home days with you!"
This morning was easier. . .Michelle had before school playground duty, so I got to leave Ainsley with her. . .no tears that I saw. I have been praying for her today! It is odd. . .making homeade pizzas for lunch without her help, and getting 2 plates out for kids instead of three. But, God is with her. . .God is with her. . .God is with her. . .

and NOW, what my boys (well, mostly my littlest guy) have been doing while I blogged. . .

Is toilet paper tearing a sensory activity?! :) I hope so, because that's what they did while I chatted on the phone with other moms of kindergartners.

Update: My sister called and Ainsley was having fun at recess! yeah!!

Update #2: I enjoyed hearing about day 2! She said a little girl behind her in the bathroom break line thought she had soft braids. She also said she answered a question in music class. . .what does amigos mean? friends.

Mrs. Marty huh? Briana had a teacher with the same name when she was in 1st grade (2002-2003) at Jefferson Elementary in Sioux Falls. Could it be the same teacher? If so, she was an AWESOME teacher and Briana just loved her! Of course so did we. Glad that things are going well! Each day will get easier and before you know it they will all be in school! Scary thought huh? Time flies by so fast, I should know my youngest is in kindergarten! and my oldest is a teenager! YIKES!!!

Hang on Emily, I will be there with you in a week. Love all the sweet pictures. Those are the ones you will want to remember.
Elliott and Trey could probably go through a mega pack of TP in about 30 minutes. :0)
