"In everything, give thanks" 1 Thess 5:18

At times I wish I was one to happily wake before the kids, have my devotion time (with a warm beverage in hand while the sun rises), and then get my workout and shower in. . .but that is SO not me at this time in my life. I roll out of bed when 4 children need me to. . .

Thank you, Lord, for rest.

This morning I hurriedly got us all ready, because I had a morning appt.

Thank you, Lord, for a daughter who asked her little brother, "Should I help you get dressed fast like a cheetah or slow like a turtle?" because that is what her daddy would do

I noticed my shirt felt wet, and soon realized Ryker had pooped out his diaper, through the moby wrap, and onto my shirt.

Thank you, Lord, for our washing machine.

I changed my shirt.

Thank you, Lord, for a closet full of clothes.

Whew. 4 children loaded up in the van. Porter has had a cough, and on the 1 min drive to my moms, he threw up.

Thank you, Lord, for the coolwhip bowl.

While I ran the kids into my moms like a relay race, Porter spilled the coolwhip bowl on his pants and carseat.

Thank you, Lord, for giving me peace. Thank you that we have carseats. Thank you for my mom who is willing to care for her 4 grandchildren (one that is now pantless and pukey)

As I drive away, I call my doctors office to tell them I will be late for my appt.

Thank you, Lord, for the kind receptionist and for my cell phone.

My appt goes well.

Thank you, Lord.

I get a few minutes to blog.

Thank you Lord, that although I may not rise early to meet with you, you are my help throughout the day. Help me to choose an attitude of thankfulness. . .

Update a day later: "On the 3rd day of sickness I could find the humor in things. . .on the 4th day I had a meltdown"

Oh how I know what you are talking about! Thanks for helping me to remember to be thankful for what we have and not for what we have not:) So wish we lived closer!(but I'm thankful that we have the blogs to keep up with each other:)
