Carnival Cuties

My sister and her kids were going to be at a carnival at "sports days" so we headed out to go with them. The rides were great, but with 3 kids and each ride taking 3 tickets, we ran out of tickets fast, so we didn't stay long. The boys LOVED this motorcycle ride! And this elephant ride. . .
We came home and played in the backyard. . .Love this one! Love these kids!

Car Washin'

It's hard to say whether the vehicle was any cleaner when we were finished washing it, but it did give us something fun (well, except for when Porter filled Trey's baseball cap with water and put it on his head) to do on a hot summer day!

Bunnies and Toad and Kids, OH MY!

Well, we had atleast 3 little pets at our home today. . and thankfully they all lived in our backyard. Two bunnies. . . And one toad. . .named "fire engine". . . The children spent all day taking care of them by feeding them and watching over them. Porter even "caught" a fly to feed to the toad, but by the time he got it to the toad it was more than "caught". . it was squashed. And off we went to wash our hands. . .again. Ainsley wants blankets made for the bunnies, and she diligently tried to feed them milk. We left the animals for awhile to go to a motorcylce parade at hot harley nights, which by the way, was really entertaining!!
Ainsley waved the whole time. . .We picked a spot to watch the motorcycles that was near B&G Milky Way. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Porter eat his messy ice cream treat. . .He ate the whole thing. . with a little "help" from dad. Then said, "That was good!"

When we got home, we rushed to check on the animals, and then had our own motorcycle parade. . .Followed by tubby time, and Trey putting his jammies on himself ("Azee" thought he needed the hat). . .And then it was LATE. And then it was time to LET. THE. TOAD. GO. And then there were some TEARS. More like MAJOR. TEARS. OF. SADNESS. You would have thought something horrible happened. . Porter was SO. SAD. letting the toad go. And when he bawled it made Ainsley bawl. Did I mention they were T-I-R-E-D TIRED?! GooF and I tried to keep a straight face but could not help but giggle. And then we checked on the bunnies, who must have gone to find the mother bunny for some milk.

And that, my friends, is the story of the bunnies, the toad and our kids.

Girl Time!

Ainsley loves girl time!! We went to a "Fancy Nancy" story time. . .

Her brother really wanted to go :(

Also, she got to go on a special date with Grammy to an "Alice in Wonderland" ballet. . .

Complete with B&G ice cream afterwards!

quarter sized hail

This is what I drove through tonight. . .I was so glad when I got in our garage! The kids had a GREAT time gathering the hail in our backyard! Very exciting at our home!

4th of July!

Our fun filled 4th of July was full of family, friends, food, FIREWORKS, and a few fits :)
In preparation for the 4th, Taetum came over and I painted the girls' nails. Then we had an impromptu pizza night on the 3rd at Matt and Michelles house. . .it just might become a tradition. Michelle and I were going to watch the kids and let the guys go get the pizza in peace. . that is until all the children wanted to ride in the minivan with the dads ;).

On the 4th we had a "camping breakfast" at my parents. . .The girl cousins. . .The boy cousins. . .

Then we packed up and headed to Yankton. Uncle Chris and Aunt Lindsey, along with Grampa Seth and Gramma Becky had lots of fireworks for the kids. . .smoke balls, parachutes, flying bees, rockets, etc.

Catching the parachutes with the army men on the bottom. . . We laughed so hard at Trey walking around with the parachute stuck on his foot. . . Porter was IN. HIS. ELEMENT! He even got to throw a few "bees" into the water, making it bubble. Running around the smokeballs. . .The big boys. . .We had a fun time at Gramma Becky and Grampa Seths. . yummy potato salad. . .playing Old Maid, fireworks, and more fireworks. . .Later we went out to the river, kids dressed in jammies, to watch the big show! I loved watching the kids get excited about the fireworks! We stayed overnight and went to church in Yankton the next morning. I got to see my college friend Nikki and her family at church! The ride home ended in GooF and I both throwing fits, which made the kids laugh. . they insisted on us throwing more fits :)
