A very exciting. . .or not. . .February post

Ainsley bought this kitty cat at a garage sale (its actually pretty lifelike. . .purrs, moves its legs etc. . but doesnt require much work on our part. . .the kind of animal we like to have around here).  Last night Ainsley was gone at bedtime, so Ryker went and got the kitty to sleep with. . .as you can see, he still prefers the floor :)  The best though was when Ryker took the cat with him along to his first dentist appointment. . .he carried that thing around the dentist office, getting lots of smiles :)  As for me, I look at the thing and I want to sneeze ;)  And that, my friends, is what I blog about on cold February days. . .stuffed cats. . .exciting stuff here!

Todays pregnancy update: You know you're pregnant when you cry during "Good Luck Charlie" on the Disney Channel, and during "The Bachelor."  You also know you're pregnant when you see Trolli gummy crawlers in the background of a picture your friend sent you, and even though you never eat them, you just have to have some!

Trex

Last night when we were at my parents, Trey drew this picture of daddy, Ryker, and himself.  He came to show it to me, and I said, "you wrote your name so nicely!"  He said, "I wrote Trex." LOL  I guess we have some work to do on our y's but atleast he could read what he wrote :)

In pregnancy news, as I was putting together beef stew in the crockpot this morning, GooF said "I don't think you're going to like that smell."  He knows me better than I know myself.  We walked in the door after being at friends this am and instead of smelling yummy beef stew, it smelled disgusting to me.  You know you're pregnant when you ponder where you can put the crockpot full of cooking beef stew to get the smell out of your house. . .the garage perhaps?

Happy Birthday Tae

9 years ago, Ainsley got her first cousin. . .we had fun looking through old pics of these two girls over the years.  Am so thankful she has Taetum :)

While looking through these pics, I noticed all the ones Ainsley is barefoot in ;)

Baby #5

Feb 6 I pulled into this parking spot at HyVee to share the news with Ainsley :)  Baby #5 is due to arrive around the last wk in Sept! :)   "Really?  Squeeeeaaaaal!!!!" was her response.  The boys were equally excited, although Ryker was looking around for the baby and couldn't find it :)

I informed GooF of the news on Jan 24th with a little "guest blogger data science 101 post" about the Top Reasons you know you're going to have an even bigger Data Set of kids ;)  We had a few weeks there with our fun little secret (that I was not very good at hiding) and then I started feeling sick to my stomach and thought we better share.  If you recall, when I was pregnant with Ryker, and hadn't told anyone, Ainsley informed her Grammy that "mommy threw up in the kitchen sink."  Thought that may be a giveaway if she started seeing that again :)

How am I feeling this time?  Let's just say that on Valentines Day, I found out that I love zofran this pregnancy.  Grammy has been making deliveries to our house the last few days with things like lunch for the kids and apples.  So many deliveries in fact, that Ryker pulled out some food from the freezer today and said, "from Grammy." lol

I have had a few "you know you're pregnant when" moments, such as "You know you're pregnant when you gag looking at pinterest recipes."  Or what about "You know you're pregnant when there are 6 kids at your house and you think, 'they'll wake me up if they need me' so you lay down for an afternoon nap."  Also, "You know you're pregnant when you are too sick to your stomach to do anything about your 2yr old licking up fun dip off your couch."  Thus, my new love for zofran.

We are all really excited and thanks to those of you that have sent us sweet words of congratulations :)  And for those of you that know orphans have been on my heart for some time, we may still end up needing that 12 passenger vehicle at some point ;)  We are thanking God for this new gift of life and we love this little one already.  And zofran. . .did I mention that?  :)

Childlike Faith

Yesterday in Science we were reading about the Asteroid Belt and how some scientists believe it may be from a planet that exploded.  Porter said, "When we get to heaven we can ask God if that's true."  Then he said, "Let's just ask him now!"  So, we prayed, "Dear God, did the Asteroid Belt come from a planet exploding?"  Porter had his head bowed, and eyes closed. . then lifted his head, opened his eyes, and said, "Yes."  I love how eager he was to listen for God's voice, and believe that He'd hear it.   I love that childlike faith.

The boys were pretty excited to get their bikes out this week.  So excited in fact that Porter was telling me what nickname he should give his bike.  Isn't that totally a boy thing?  Giving nicknames to their bikes and cars and friends?!

Let me introduce to you. . .

"Mr. SpiderWeb Man" himself :)
