Mr. Ryker Matthew is

Chub

Chub!

There's just somethin

about havin baby Ryker around to love on. . .

Ainsley loved on him and made him into what she called an Egyptian baby :)

Porter loved on Ryker by putting Trey's shoes on him :)
And we love on him with kisses, lullaby singing, finger holding, mirror smiling, baby/baby nursery smelling. . mmmm :) and occasional smashing by his big bros

My mom always said every age was her favorite and it is true. . .

these girls are so fun right now. . .

but there's also just somethin about you, baby. . .
Thank you God for the gift of our children!!

Even when it sometimes feels like they are all over. . .well, I guess that's because they ARE all over. Sometimes our house is complete calm. . sometimes it is complete chaos. I guess that's to be expected with 4 kids 7 and under!

New videos. . .please excuse the mom with the baby talk voice ;) http://www.youtube.com/my_videos?feature=mhum

Scattered Joy

This post is scattered photos from here and there. . .and it's quite fitting for this time in our life :) But as I often feel scattered, there are those moments of joy, when I grab the camera. . .

and capture some of our daily moments. Even a late night mac n cheese snack. . .Sometimes my camera isn't handy. . .like today as I watched Ainsley skip/run with a bounce in her step into Art, while blowing many kisses back at us. And sometimes those moments of joy are in what they say, like Trey saying, "Hey daddy, that little guy is Ryker!" But those moments of joy are most definitely scattered amongst our day! You know, in between the whining, arguing and such :)

This, That and the Other Thing

THIS is my grandpa Morris (with me holding baby Ainsley and that would be a maternity shirt, so prego with Porter)and his beloved bride of over 66 years! What a testimony! We shared many meals with him at my parents house on Sunday nights and 4th of July breakfasts (also prego when this picture was taken. . there's a recurring theme that I love : ) )and here's my Grandpa celebrating his last Christmas before he'd go see Jesus in heaven. GooF had me look over at him this day and Morris was BEAMING. The last time I really looked at my grandpa, he had a huge smile on his face. All of the great grandsons were given one of his old army hatsAt his funeral we found out ways he had served the Lord and others that we didn't know before. I was in church the Sunday after he died, and imagined him celebrating his first Sunday in heaven with his Savior. I am thankful for his many prayers over the years, and as my dad had all the great grandchildren stand up and sing "Jesus Loves Me" at the service, I was reminded of the love of Christ being passed down among generations. And THAT leads me to THIS boy. . .
THIS boy can pray. And he does. He has been given the gift of praying for others. His preschool teacher told me today that she had mentioned in class that her brother does not believe in Jesus. She said Porter started crying. Sure enough, tonight at bedtime he prayed for his teacher's brother. And he will most likely continue praying for him. Recently we had my friends little boys over to play. . . Porter started praying for them every night and I was able to share with Porter that one of them recently asked Jesus into his heart. THIS boy also loves to sing about Jesus and wants everyone to know Him and have eternal life with Him. Christmas morningAnd THE OTHER THING? We took our kids snow tubing for the 1st time! So fun!

The Big Kids

We took you big kids ice-skating recently and I watched as your personalities shone!

Ainsley, I hear from people what a good friend you are. When we got to the skating rink, you waited for your friend to arrive before hitting the ice! For you, it wasn't so much about learning to skate as it was about spending time with the people there :)
Porter, your determination on the ice was just like your determination in life. . .you fell,

and learned how to get up on your own. . .It was all about mastering ice-skating for you, and you can't wait to go back!

Trey, you just went with the flow. . .with a smile on your face!
Ainsley, you absolutely LOVE Sleepovers. . .giggling late into the night! At your last one, we went swimming (you finally got up the courage to go down the big slide recently and went over and over!),ate pizza and decorated cupcakes, took showers and put your jammies on,and finally fell asleep in a sea of dolls, blankets, teddybears, and pink galore! You, my girl, are a great big sister, and a daddy's girl
You, Porter, love to play in the snow
and have one fun daddy!
We recently started using "Love and Logic" with you and it works WONDERFULLY! God made you intense, strong, active, hilarious and with a huge heart. . .my son, you are at times difficult to raise, but we pray that you will use your strong will for good!

Trey, you are pretty easy-going, and act a lot like your daddy, you're content reading books, playing toys, and playing baby. . .And Ryker, no you're not a big kid yet, but you are STRETCHING out to be one. . .
stretch~ I just love your smile. . .sometimes you can't even eat bc you are looking up at me grinning :) and oh, the bubbles you've started blowing!Yes, you kids are getting big, but really it feels like we've had you forever. Even Ryker, at 3 months,

it's hard to remember life without you. You just fit right in to our now family of 6!
I love you and Jesus loves you, mommy
Those of you that pray for our family can be praying for us as we are making schooling decisions for next fall! Porter will be starting kindergarten and we will either be sending him to a Christian School for 1/2 days or the public school that Ainsley went to. He has been having a good experience with prek this year. . .the other students are excited to see him and he has learned so much. . .academically and most importantly, about Jesus! Ainsley is a wonderful student for me. . .she is a good listener, catches on easily and spends a lot of time reading. But with Porter going to school we are considering having her go too, which she thinks she may enjoy. It really is a tough decision, so thanks for the prayers!
